Five years ago, Travizory partnered with the Government of the Republic of Seychelles to reimagine national border management amidst unprecedented global travel challenges. Today, we celebrate half a decade of shared innovation, transformed passenger experiences, and enhanced sovereign security across the Indian Ocean.

What began as a critical crisis response during the peak of COVID-19 has evolved into a global benchmark for integrated, multimodal border security. By combining pre-travel intelligence, artificial intelligence, and cutting-edge facial biometrics, the Seychelles Electronic Border System (SEBS) now safeguards over 1 million square kilometers of land and maritime territory.

The Seychelles Electronic Border System is a comprehensive Border Security Platform incorporating Travizory’s API-PNR Targeting, Biometric Travel Authorization and Border Management Systems.

A pioneering force in regional border security, Seychelles has marked several high-profile achievements in the five years since launching, including the implementation of Africa’s first FaceLane™ Bio-Corridor for health and Immigration screening.

Milestones of Innovation: 2020–2026

• 2020 – Rapid Crisis Response & Partnership Launch: Partnered with the Government of Seychelles to deploy the Travel Authorization platform, enabling the safe reopening of national borders during the pandemic via a fully self-funded model.
• 2021 – Full API-PNR Integration: Deployed an ICAO-compliant Advance Passenger Information and Passenger Name Record (API-PNR) targeting system, establishing Seychelles as a regional leader in predictive threat analysis.
• December 2021 – Africa’s First Walk-Through Biometric Corridor: Introduced the patented FaceLane™ Bio-Corridor at Seychelles International Airport, delivering Africa’s first contactless, speed-entry border experience.
• 2022–2023 – Digitalization & Local Capacity Building: Eliminated paper arrival/departure forms, established regional headquarters in Mahé, and built a dedicated workforce of Seychellois technology specialists.
• Late 2024 – Maritime Travel Authorization Launch: Extended real-time biometric risk assessments to cruise ships, yachts, and commercial vessels via the Port Victoria integration, fully unifying air and maritime border oversight.
• 2025 – 5-Year Benchmark Achievement: Processed millions of travelers with an 84% reduction in peak-hour airport queue times while generating over €1.5 million in voluntary traveler donations for the Seychelles Environment Trust Fund.
• Early 2026 – Dynamic Health Screening & Outbreak Prevention: Integrated automated pre-travel health risk assessment modules into SEBS in response to regional Ebola and cholera outbreaks, screening travel histories and digital health credentials prior to departure without delaying low-risk travelers.
• Mid-2026 – Crisis Response & Emergency Repatriation Support: Deployed SEBS’s Emergency Response Module during the Middle East crisis and Iran conflict. The system provided real-time tracking, risk vetting, and rapid manifest clearing to support the emergency repatriation of foreign nationals and overseas Seychellois citizens.
